На самом деле, как легко можно догадаться, система Savage Worlds (в русском издании — «Дневник авантюриста») для игры по миру «АРРРГХЪ!» подходит практически идеально, что только подчеркивает её подлинно визионерский характер. отвергая инфернонумероидное наследие многих пользующихся незаслуженной популярностью псевдоролевых игр, «Дневник авантюриста» ставит во главу угла принцип «Быстро! весело! Брутально!». Это полностью соответствует концепции истинного ролевого творчества, изложенной во вступлении ко «второму Ударуъ», первому и единственному дополнению к игре «АРРРГХЪ!».
Издание макрокодирующего эгрегора Savage Wolrds на русском языке позволило нам в очередной раз порвать канву ирреальности и сделать новый шаг навстречу победе сил света, добра и любви над тлетворным влиянием прихвостней галактического кагала. Eдинственное принципиальное отличие канонического переложения «АРРРГХЪ!» от авторского издания «Дневника Авантюриста» — для обозначения игральных костей мы используем букву «к», тем самым окончательно нейтрализуя всевозможные нумероинфернальные воздействия.

I’m somewhat amazed to see growing interest in ARRRGH! and Diary of The Enlightened One from the non-Russian audience. That’s great. However, I guess the material presented in those games requires some explanations. What hit the nerve of the Russian role-playing audience in 2006 needs additional treatment for those who didn’t live in Russia in the past 20 years.
ARRRGH! is a parody game, loosely based on the works of some Russian science fiction writers popular in the 1990s. It was a wild mix of the “New Weird”, Lovecraftian horror, and “crypto-science”, twisted by the ideology crisis in Russia after the fall of Soviet Union. Some of those authors, like Yuri Petukhov, were extremist wackos who wrote books so bad that they were actually good. Some, like Vasili Golovachov, were the accepted members of the main-stream sci-fi. The game itself is actually a satirical pamphlet that was more avidly read than played.
Diary of The Enlightened One is a Savage Worlds conversion (thanks to studio101.ru we now have it officially published in Russian). It also tries to make the original material more suitable for gaming while preserving its controversial spirit.
I expect ARRRGH! to be notoriously complex for the automated translation, since it uses lots and lots of neologisms like “инферноматерия” (infernal matter), “некрокадорг” (minor artificial organism created by the means of necromancy), “штернраумнекроштрумгруппенуберзольдат” (transcription of the fake German word for the undead space super-stormtrooper), and so on. It’s also inherently politically incorrect. It would be against the nature of this game to write a clear “legal statement”. So, we just hope you are a mature gamer, capable to separate your imagination from reality.
